The Governance Lab at NYU Tandon Announces the Launch of the Multi-City Challenge Program

The Governance Lab (The GovLab) at New York University Tandon School of Engineering announced the re-launch of the Multi-City Challenge program, an effort to help cities and their residents collaboratively design solutions to urgent public problems. The initiative, supported by the Tinker Foundation, and in collaboration with Consejo Nuevo León, The Trust for the Americas, and the Municipality of San Pedro Garza García, seeks to build on the success of The GovLab’s City Challenges program, by expanding the program to run in five Mexican cities simultaneously in order to take advantage of the collective intelligence of a broader network of citizens to solve urban challenges.

(26 de agosto de 2019) — The Trust for the Americas participa por segundo año consecutivo en la semana internacional de datos abiertos, donde concurren las más importantes conferencias regionales de datos abiertos, Abrelatam y Condatos del 27 al 30 de agosto de 2019. La agenda estará cargada de actividades que procuran avanzar la agenda de datos abiertos de la región, empezando con una sesión de trabajo para definir la teoría de cambio del Programa Interamericano de Datos Abiertos (PIDA) en la cual participaran organizaciones líderes como HIVOS Latam, ILDA, Open Data Charter, CAF, Open Contracting Partnership, Open Government Partnership y Global Integrity.

Alcaldes y Autoridades Locales se reúnen en la XXV Conferencia Regional de FIU y el Condado de Miami-Dade para debatir el futuro de la Agenda de Sostenibilidad Mundial. - The Trust for the Americas participa en la XXV Conferencia de Alcaldes y Autoridades Locales que se lleva a cabo del 18 al 20 de junio en la Ciudad de Miami auspiciada por Florida International University y el Condado de Miami Dade. Este año el tema de la Conferencia es “Construyendo las Comunidades del Mañana: Desarrollo Económico, Resiliencia y Sostenibilidad” y el orador principal del día de apertura será el presidente del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, Luis Alberto Moreno.

Eight projects have been awarded seed funding to develop solutions for their local challenges. Washington, D.C., March 22nd 2019.- Within the "Promoting an Open Government Ecosystem in Belize" project, implemented by The Trust for the Americas, on March 25th, eight initiatives received seed funding for US$5,000.00 each to support the pillars of Open Government and foster citizen participation and public accountability in Belize.
