Jorge Márquez

Project and Business Development Manager

As a Project and Business Development Manager, Jorge identifies potential funding opportunities, elaborates stakeholder management strategies, and drafts proposals to enhance our impact in the region. He is currently the project manager of Skills for Sustainability, a binational initiative focused on providing technical training and job placement to vulnerable and low-income populations for positions in the water management sector on the US-Mexico border.

Jorge’s professional experience includes working at Sucre Municipality Mayor’s Office in Caracas, Venezuela, where he implemented public policies in Petare, one of the most densely populated informal settlements in Latin America. Later, he joined Transparencia Venezuela, the Venezuelan Chapter of Transparency International, as coordinator of public finance. He was project manager of a humanitarian aid initiative across seven states of Venezuela and consultant of USAID’s Human Rights Program in Colombia.

Jorge holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad Central de Venezuela, graduate studies in Politics and Government from Universidad Metropolitana, and a Master’s in Public Administration from Columbia University. He is fluent in Spanish, English and proficient in Portuguese.
