Strengthening the Innovative Entrepreneurship RD
Since 2019, The Trust for the Americas and AES Dominicana Foundation have been implementing the Potenciando el Emprendimiento Innovador project in the Dominican Republic. This initiative strengthens local businesses under the paradigm of the Low Touch Economy, using a hybrid training model that combines in-person Bootcamps and virtual training sessions. The project has impacted municipalities such as Quisqueya, Boca Chica, and San Antonio de Guerra, reaching a diverse group of people, 85% of whom are women. It fosters creativity, innovation, and adaptability to ensure the success of small businesses.

Success stories
Belkis, a craft entrepreneur from the Dominican Republic, strengthened her souvenir doll business through the "Potenciando el Emprendimiento Innovador" project in 2019. Winner of economic incentives from the AES Dominicana Foundation, she shared her learnings with her son, who successfully launched his own business during the pandemic. Later, Belkis applied the Canvas model she learned in the project to her political campaign and was elected as a councilwoman in Boca Chica. Now, she supports other entrepreneurs in strengthening their businesses.
