Capacity Building for Human Rights Organizations in Colombia

Building the Capacity of Human Rights Organizations in Colombia

The Trust acts as a strategic partner on this USAID funded $25 million dollar contract to MSD Inc. in Colombia. The Trust’s role is to strengthen human rights practices in Colombia by building the capacity of local nonprofit organizations promoting human rights along the Pacific coast. In conjunction with the United Nations and the German cooperation agency, the Trust trains these organizations in access to financing, cooperation with international donors, program compliance and program advocacy. In addition, the program promotes the sharing of best practices among local businesses on human rights issues.

Ultimately, this program seeks to promote reconciliation through greater respect for human rights in Colombia.
