Each year, the Trust hosts an event to provide visibility and support for our development programs in 18 countries in the hemisphere. In 2008, a Gala took place on November 20 at the historic headquarters of the Organizations of American States (OAS) at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue in Washington, D.C.
At the Gala, the Trust presented its first Humanitarian Award to seventeen-time LATIN GRAMMY Award winner Juanes. The Award was given by the OAS Secretary General, Jose Miguel Insulza. Secretary General Insulza also presented the Trust’s annual Corporate Citizen of the Americas Award during the gala to Pfizer. In addition to these honored guests, several ambassadors, corporate executives and dignitaries attended the event.
